PUK President's meeting with British Ambassador

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), welcomed Stephen Charles Hitchen, British Ambassador to Iraq.

The meeting centered on the expansion of relations, the most recent developments and changes in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, and the significance of maintaining dialogue and coordination to address problems and overcome obstacles. 

President Bafel Jalal Talabani has clarified the PUK's position on the elections and the issues dividing Erbil and Baghdad, stating: "We want free and fair elections that are held on time and reflect everyone's interests; the PUK is prepared for this, and our objective is to strengthen the foundations of democracy in our region." 

"One key to resolving disputes is expanding coordination with Baghdad and resolving disputes based on the Constitution," he continued. "We must all act with a patriotic and responsible mindset and steer our region toward greater prosperity and stability."
