Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani met with Secretary General of the Peshmerga Ministry Lieutenant Colonel Bakhtiar and other officers of the ministry, saying: "The Peshmerga Ministry will continue to undergo reform, and anyone found to have been negligent will be held accountable."
On Wednesday, there was a meeting in Erbil to discuss the Ministry's internal conflicts and tensions in light of recent events. General Secretary of the Peshmerga Ministry Qubad Talabani has asked for an investigation into the causes of the conflicts. Peshmerga Ministry reform strategy challenges and constraints were also discussed.
Political disputes between political parties are common, but it is improper to bring these disagreements into the Peshmerga Ministry, the Deputy Prime Minister said, emphasizing the need to continue reform and reorganization efforts within the Peshmerga forces.
As we have promised our people and our allies, we will gradually implement the reform program and increase the size of our armed forces. Therefore, we can't afford to disregard this issue just to please a select few. As the process of reform continues, everyone, regardless of their position or rank, will be held accountable for any mistakes that are made.
The Deputy Prime Minister sent a message to all officials of the Peshmerga Ministry and said: "In terms of politics and parties, it is your responsibility to conduct yourself professionally in the ministry, avoid conflict, avoid getting involved in political and party conflict, and prevent anyone from interfering with the Peshmerga Ministry."
Qubad Talabani took the opportunity to express his gratitude to the Secretary General of the Peshmerga Ministry and his team for their tireless efforts to keep things running smoothly within the ministry and prevent a complete collapse of the reform process.
