Deputy Prime Minister receives first Deputy Speaker of Jordanian Parliament in Erbil
Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, welcomed Ahmad Khalaila, the First Deputy Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament, and his delegation.The meeting covered the most recent political developments, the regional security environment, and ways to improve ties between the two countries.
During a meeting held on Thursday in Erbil in the presence of Daban Shadala, Deputy Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Talabani discussed the long-standing ties between the Kurdistan Region and Jordan. He also stated that the KRG welcomes the development of relations between the two countries, highlighting the need for improved cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
In a separate discussion, Talabani highlighted the necessity of maintaining the cordial and stable relationship established between President Mam Jalal and King Abdullah II. He added that the relationship between the Kurdistan Region and Jordan must be strengthened in the areas of tourism, agriculture, education, and health.
The visiting delegation stated their willingness to cooperate with the Kurdistan Region, conveyed the greetings of King Abdullah II to Talabani, and extended an official invitation for him to travel to Jordan.
