Deputy Prime Minister and British Ambassador met in Erbil

Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani welcomed British Ambassador Mark Bryson Richardson and paid him a farewell visit to mark the end of his mission in Iraq.

 In the meeting held on Thursday in Erbil, the Deputy Prime Minister praised the British Ambassador's contribution to reducing hostility among Iraqi parties, particularly by assisting in understanding and fostering better ties between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government.

Qubad Talabani hailed Mr. Richardson as a genuine ally of both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and wished him luck in his future tasks.

In another section of the meeting, the current relationship between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government was discussed. Both parties agreed that since relations have improved in the past, they should work to further their mutual understanding and cooperation as they collaborate for the economic growth of both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and resolve outstanding issues peacefully, without hostility, and in accordance with the Constitution.
