Max van der Stoel Institute's 10th Annual Symposium.
The Dutch Labor Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) have close ties, and previous collaboration and initiatives have been built on a foundation of trust. Their shared endeavors keep expanding, and in this context, the PUK representative in the Netherlands took part in the Max van der Stoel Institute's 10th Annual Symposium.
Bakhtiar Bakr, the PUK's representative in the Netherlands, attended the 10th Annual Symposium of the Max van der Stoel Institute for Foreign Affairs of the Dutch Labor Party on June 16, 2023, in Amsterdam. In addition to expressing the PUK's congratulations, Mr. Bakr met with Bert Koenders, a former Dutch foreign minister and current president of the Max van der Stoel Institute, as well as the directors of the organization, a member of the European Parliament, and other visitors, to discuss the most recent political developments as well as joint work and projects.
Sarkawt Mohammed Ghafur, a member of the PUK Leadership Council and head of the Relations Board of the PUK's Relations Bureau, congratulated Max van der Stoel Institute and the Dutch Labor Party via video conference.
The Institute's Presidency and the symposium's organizers expressed their appreciation in return and vowed to keep working together and cooperating with the PUK.
"The PUK and the Max van der Stoel Institute for Foreign Affairs of the Dutch Labor Party reached an understanding last year in Sulaymaniyah, where they signed a joint agreement at the level of the two parties' political bureaus and confirmed that shared objectives as two leftist and democratic forces will support upcoming projects and activities," Bakhtiar Bakr, the PUK's representative in the Netherlands, told PUKMEDIA.
"The PUK and the Dutch Labor Party have strong relationships," Bakr says, "and trust has been the cornerstone of the work and projects in the past and will continue to be so in the future."
