Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani welcomed Olivier Decottignies, the French consul general in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and they spoke about recent political developments, ties between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, and the issue of the Iraqi budget bill.
During the meeting in Erbil, Qubad Talabani spoke about the internal situation in Kurdistan and said: "I do not like the way things are going in the region right now, and I think that the parties' relations should have improved. The Deputy Prime Minister commented on the position of the Kurdistan Region in Baghdad and the relations between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, saying: "What is happening in Baghdad is a reflection of the internal state of the region. To adequately defend our shared constitutional rights and appear stronger and more unified in Baghdad, we must work together”. "We must all evaluate our respective positions to reach this consensus," he continued.
