On June 1, 2023, Erbil had a celebration honoring the PUK's 48th anniversary. Government authorities, party leaders from Iraq and Kurdistan, ambassadors, consuls, envoys, and diplomats all attended the ceremony.

Qubad Talabani remarked when he read PUK's speech: "Under the direction of President Bafel and a new strength, we will give our people new hope."

Qubad Talabani, Supervisor of the Secretariat Office of President Mam Jalal, said: "The PUK was established during a significant political crisis and gave the Kurdish people hope. Since its founding, it has established its guiding principles through democracy, and it still does so now through its guiding principles of peace, democracy, human rights, and self-determination."

With the fall of the Ba'ath regime in 2003, the PUK entered a new era, and with it came new opportunities and higher expectations. There were ten years of difficulty for the PUK after President Mam Jalal's illness and death. In those days, Mr. Kosrat, a national hero, along with Mrs. Hero Ibrahim Ahmad, the PUK's strong woman, fell ill and had to leave politics. Finally, under the direction of President Bafel Jalal Talabani and new strength, our party will experience stability and hope once more." He stated.

Kurdistan is "full of despair" like it was in 1975, said Talabani, and it's clear that people there want better infrastructure and living conditions. In this situation, the PUK will update its ideals, including support for women, the abolition of corruption, the promotion of transparency, and all other topics that benefit people. Working together, the PUK believes we can improve Baghdad's financial situation. Peace in Kurdistan is essential to our success in Baghdad.

"The PUK has always believed that communication is the best method to solve problems, so we underline the need for a national dialogue to be initiated for the benefit of the people because recent events have demonstrated that imposing one's will on others will only fail. As elections are being planned (yes, elections will go ahead), the PUK declares that it will maintain its support for peace, democracy, human rights, and freedom of expression to foster a prosperous society. We will keep fighting for women's rights and step up our efforts in Baghdad," said Talabani.

"In the framework of a federal Iraq, I am confident that the PUK's future and that of our Kurdistan will be stronger, just as we did in 1975 when we met the expectations of our people," he added.
