Kosrat Rasul: The PUK was established with the blood of martyrs

Kosrat Rasul Ali, Chairman of the Supreme Political and Interest Council of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), says, "Blood, a river of blood, forms this PUK. It has sacrificed thousands of brave martyrs for the independence of our people and the liberation of Kurdistan."
Mr. Kosrat Rasul stated: "I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations to all PUK members on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the party's founding, including ourselves, the PUK strugglers, the courageous Peshmerga, the families of martyrs, political prisoners, and disabled Peshmerga, as well as the vast majority of Kurdish citizens."
When asked what he hoped would come of the anniversary, he said, "I'm hoping that this anniversary will serve as more of an inspiration for the growth and development of the PUK.
"The PUK is a struggling party with a history of pride and independence. The PUK's history is full of thousands of martyrs, hundreds of stories, and acts of bravery. Mr. Kosrat said. "As a result, each PUK member must acknowledge the importance of this heritage and work to preserve and advance it. We must never forget that the PUK exists because of the lives lost by so many warriors and soldiers. In order to advance our strong and independent past in the future, it is our responsibility to fight together for it."
He further said: "Today, on the 48th anniversary of the establishment of the PUK, the Kurdistan Region is experiencing a delicate and challenging situation; political party connections are not at the necessary level; citizens' living conditions are terrible; and the future of relations between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad is uncertain." "Therefore, I believe it is necessary to state that all political forces and parties have a responsibility to put aside their own interests in order to fight for a decent life for our people. I also believe it is necessary to set a national strategy for our people's future and to advance the aspirations and goals that we have been fighting for for years but have not yet achieved," he added.
