The French Embassy in Iraq has condemned the attack on the Yezidis and said that the Yazidis have a right to live in peace, security, and dignity as the other components of Iraqi society.

The Embassy of France in Iraq condemns in the strongest terms the proliferation, in recent days, of hate speech targeting the Yazidi community, including the apology for the crimes committed against Yazidis by Daesh.

It recalls the right of Yazidis to live in peace, security, and dignity, in the same way as the other components of Iraqi society.

It reaffirms France's concrete commitment to the Yazidis in Iraq, whether it be their right to decent living conditions in the regions where they have been the target of Daesh's extermination, as in those where they have found refuge, or whether it be in the fight against impunity.

It calls on the federal authorities and those of the autonomous region of Kurdistan to continue their efforts to improve security, governance and in reconstructing Sinjar.

The French Embassy in Iraq emphasizes its attachment to creating an understanding and a peaceful dialogue between the different components of the Iraqi population and to the preservation of the country's diversity, which is one of its main assets.
