Qubad Talabani: Kurdistan Region will develop balanced relations

Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, said that the Kurdistan Region will develop balanced relations with neighboring countries and the world.
Qubad Talabani made the remarks during his meetings with the President of the European Council on Foreign Relations and General David Petraeus.
Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani met with former Swedish Prime Minister and current President of the European Council on Foreign Relations Carl Bildt to discuss measures to improve ties between Kurdistan and the EU.
Both parties concurred that the Kurdistan Region should focus more on fostering its relations with Sweden and all EU nations at this time during the meeting that took place on Thursday, April 27, 2023, on the sidelines of the annual Delphi Economic Forum in Greece. The parties also discussed ways to improve relations.
The status of the Kurdistan Region in Iraq was covered in another section of the discussion. Qubad Talabani stated: "Unfortunately, the Kurdish position in Iraq has weakened in the past ten years." He emphasized the need to make every effort to promote the Kurdish position in Iraq.
The meeting also discussed the Kurdistan Region's relations with neighboring countries and both sides agreed that the Kurdistan Region should have a balanced relationship with neighboring countries.
The Deputy Prime Minister also met with former US Central Intelligence Agency Director General David Petraeus and discussed the political and security situation in Kurdistan, Iraq, and the region, as well as strategies for combating terrorism.
