Qubad Talabani discusses the political and security situation with Nuri Al-Maliki.
Qubad Talabani, the deputy prime minister of the Kurdistan Region, and his delegation were welcomed by Nuri Al-Maliki, the leader of Iraq's State of Law Coalition.
The two parties talked about the country's political and security developments as well as the effects of attacking Sulaymaniyah International Airport.
Al-Maliki strongly condemned the incident, urging all parties to respect Iraq's sovereignty, rejecting all forms of unlawful aggression, and rejecting the use of Iraqi territory as a venue for settling scores.
In order to maintain the stability of the political situation and find a consensus that unites the political forces, the head of the State of Law Coalition stressed the need for dialogue to address any imbalances in relations within the Kurdistan Region and its communities as well as between the Kurdistan Region and the central government to establish a new phase whose foundations are political and security stability.
Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani was also received by Qassem Al-Araji, Iraq's national security adviser.
They addressed the general political and security situation, highlighting the value of unity in overcoming obstacles, supporting the democratic system, and ensuring the success of government initiatives.
The two parties also emphasized the significance of maintaining the joint projects and the unity of Iraq, focusing on the need to maintain border control and strive to reinforce and sustain the security advancements made in both the Kurdistan Region and throughout all of Iraq.
