Yazidis KDP

The Êzidi Identity and Cause Organization (ÊICO) informed the three presidencies in Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and international organizations in a memorandum about the Kurdistan Democratic Party's (KDP) violations and interference with Yazidi rights and decision-making.

In a memorandum sent to 13 senior international, Iraqi, and Kurdish centers, the ÊICO describes the tragedy and misery of the Yazidis, including genocide, displacement due to Islamic State (ISIS) attacks on their territories, as well as political and party interference with their rights and affairs in the Kurdistan Region.

"In addition to demanding that their rights be protected, the organizations defending Yazidi rights are also demanding an end to political interference in their community's affairs," the memorandum said.

Stop political interference in Yazidi affairs
As a result of the genocide of the Yazidi Kurds caused by the attack of ISIS terrorists on Sinjar, the heart of the Yazidis' land in Iraq, and the abandonment of the area by the KDP's forces on August 3, 2014, thousands of Yazidis faced death, kidnapping, and disappearance. Organizations defending Yazidi rights demand that their liberty be guaranteed and that parties refrain from interfering in Yazidi affairs.
Stop KDP's interference and threats
In the memorandum sent to the three presidencies of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, as well as civil and religious organizations, embassies, and consulates, the ÊICO requested them to "no longer remain silent about the violation of Yazidis' rights and prevent the interference of the KDP and its threats to Yazidis' rights."

The organization expressed its frustration and disappointment because of the KDP's interference in the affairs of the Yazidi and its control of the Yazidi Spiritual Council after the attack of ISIS terrorists and the crimes they committed against the Yazidis due to the lack of defense by the KDP forces in the area.
The KDP is starving the Yezidis of Duhok
The Yazidi Kurds are one of the indigenous Kurdish and Iraqi communities. Articles 41, 42, and 43 of Iraq's permanent constitution guarantee the rights of religious communities and provide the constitutional and legal basis for the observance of religious and social ceremonies.

According to ÊICO, "Since August 3, 2014, the KDP has been threatening and starving Yazidis in Duhok Province." "Furthermore, the KDP intervened in the Yazidi prince's placement without consulting the Yazidi community, which is unacceptable."

ÊICO is an independent organization founded following the Sinjar tragedy and the Yazidi genocide. It works to defend the rights of the Yazidis and acknowledge the crimes committed against them by ISIS terrorists.
