President Bafel: We have an unwavering belief in working together

President Bafel and the French Ambassador to Iraq.

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met with Éric Chevalier, French Ambassador to Iraq, in Sulaymaniyah.

Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, Executive Member of the PUK Political Bureau, and Olivier Decottignies, Consul of France in the Kurdistan Region, attended the meeting.

The two discussed the political situation in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq and emphasized the need to continue negotiations to resolve issues between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Iraqi government on the basis of the constitution and secure public interests.

President Bafel clarified the PUK's perspective on the situation in the Kurdistan Region and the steps necessary to resolve the conflicts and said, "Everyone can see that we have an unwavering belief in working together; the lives and well-being of the people are our responsibility, and we will do our best to fulfill this."
