inSlemani to hold the biggest festival in Sulaymaniyah for Newroz

The largest festival to celebrate Newroz and the Kurdish New Year will take place over the course of four days in Sulaymaniyah, the city that serves as the cultural center of the Kurdistan Region.
inSlemani Platform will host Newroz celebrations from March 17 to March 20.
Hazhan Hersh, the spokesperson of the inSlemani Platform, told PUKMEDIA: "The platform seeks to serve the people of the city and its surrounds."
"Following organizing the new year's activities, the platform was able to bring much more tourists to the city," she added. "The number of tourists in Sulaymaniyah increased from 30,000 to 67,000."
Hersh explained that the festival starts on March 17 and continues until March 20 and that it includes decorating some of the city's streets and parks, screening films, and hosting concerts and live music.
Along with many exciting shows, 150 huts have been set up for young people to display their local products and handicrafts.
The festival also includes the lighting of the Newroz fire on Goizha Mountain in Sulaymaniyah on the evening of March 20.
