Qubad Talabani meets a delegation from European Parliament in Erbil

Qubad Talabani, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, met with a delegation of European Parliament members led by Sara Skyttedal to discuss several topics relevant to both parties.
 
The guest delegation reaffirmed its willingness to build stronger direct relations with the Kurdistan Region during the meeting in Erbil. They also highlighted the importance of strengthening Kurdistan within the paradigm of a powerful federal Iraq.

Furthermore, the delegation recalled that all of Kurdistan's golden triumphs were acquired while the region's political factions were together.
 
Qubad Talabani, for his part, underlined that the current stage's difficulties include providing services and improving people's lives and that "now is the time for effective governance." He pointed out that the weakness in Baghdad was due to the unfortunate lack of unity in Kurdistan.
 
Qubad Talabani said: "Every effort should be made to guarantee the Kurdistan Region's financial entitlements in the general federal budget and to address the accumulating oil and gas issues."
 
Both parties acknowledged the significance of holding free and fair elections as the foundation for genuine representation in the next cabinet of the region.
