Qubad Talabani and Guterres emphasize the importance of resolving the issues

Qubad Talabani meets with Antonio Guterres and Jeanine Plasschaert

Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to discuss the latest developments and political changes. 

The meeting was held in Erbil and was attended by Jeanine Plasschaert, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Iraq, and Daban Shadala, Deputy Minister of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Kurdistan Regional Government.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Guterres discussed the significance of President Mam Jalal and said, "As your friend and an old friend of President Mam Jalal, I call for the resolution of the internal issues of the Kurdistan Region in order to protect the interests of the citizens of the Kurdistan Region."

Later they talked about the situation in Iraq and the issues between Erbil and Baghdad. They also highlighted the need to resolve the problems in the interests of the Iraqi people and on the basis of understanding.

Qubad Talabani discussed the Kurdistan Region's political issues in detail and expressed his viewpoints on addressing them. He ended by expressing his appreciation for Mr. Guterres' efforts to bring the Kurdish people and Iraqi people together and thanking him for his visit.
