Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, member of the Executive Board of the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), emphasized that the grounds for freedom of expression should be extended in the Kurdistan Region.
On Sunday, February 26, 2023, Rasul welcomed the volunteering lawyers of Badinan Detainees at the PUK Political Bureau's headquarters in Erbil.
Rasul commended them for defending the detainees and voiced his support for their work, emphasizing that the issue needed to be resolved quickly, equitably, and without violating anyone's right to free speech or human rights.
Both sides agreed that the grounds for freedom of expression should be extended and that no one should be penalized for having different viewpoints. They also talked about freedom of expression, journalism, the rule of law, and the efforts of volunteer lawyers to assist various classes.
