The Leadership Council's letter.
The Leadership Council of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK): All the procedures of the PUK pertaining to the regulation, the issue of the presidency, and the complaints and lawsuits filed against the decisions of the PUK have been resolved in favor of PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani.
In a letter dated February 7, 2023, and signed by Farid Asasard, Secretary of the Leadership Council, all of the PUK's units were addressed.
The letter refers to the legal procedures and decisions issued by the Investigation Court, the Office of Party Affairs, political organizations, and the Council of Commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission of Iraq, which clarify that only the PUK Leadership Council is responsible for deciding on the party's internal affairs and that no other party is permitted to interfere. It also warns that political and legal action will be taken against those who violate these rulings because any interference in the internal affairs of the PUK is a red line.
