PUK President's meetings with Iraqi Officials
Bafel Jalal Talabani, the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), has started a new political campaign in Baghdad by revisiting Iraqi political leaders and parties and reiterating the PUK's message and policies as one of the most important political forces in Iraq.
In his discussions, the PUK President places a strong emphasis on "resolving the conflicts between Erbil and Baghdad, carrying out the political parties' agreement, and protecting constitutional rights."
Sudani's government has taken several major stepsA vital step for Sudani's cabinet is to put into effect the agreement between members of the State Administration Alliance that was agreed upon before the formation of the current Iraqi government, particularly in light of the government's recent noteworthy acts.
Aid Al-Hilali, a member of Iraq's Coordination Framework, stated to PUKMEDIA: "The agreement on which the government was formed within the State Administration Alliance is extremely essential and is the primary criterion for the alliance's success; the government is now working on it."
Since Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani's government has already taken several significant actions, he continued, "Implementation of the agreement will have a favorable influence on the operation of the government." "Non-compliance with the agreement will generate complications."
The only answer is the ConstitutionIssues must be resolved under the constitution, which is seen as the only option for the Iraqi government and is deemed viable.
Hilali stated: "Everyone agrees that the constitution is the only tool for governance and politics in the country, and if there are disagreements on certain parts of the constitution, that does not imply that they cannot be resolved."
"The political parties can deliver the best services to the public if they agree with and fully support the government," he added. "To save Iraq from these issues, we must work toward a cohesive government that serves the people."
PUK gathers Iraqi partiesImportant actions to be taken include resolving disagreements between Erbil and Baghdad, carrying out the agreement between political parties, and safeguarding constitutional rights.
Gharib Ahmed Mustafa, a member of the PUK faction in the Iraqi parliament, told PUKMEDIA: "The presence of the PUK President in Baghdad has had a significant impact on the parties and even the government, and has become a focal point for bringing together opinions and parties on the one hand, and protecting constitutional rights on the other."
Mustafa stated: "The Iraqi parties have requested that President Bafel be more present in Baghdad to assist and support the government in implementing the agreement between the parties upon which the government was created and to protect constitutional rights."
"All political parties have contributed to the drafting of the government's program, so the parties view Sudani's government as their own, and the PUK has always been the parties' rallying point for providing greater services to Iraq," he continued.
The agreements serve the Iraqi people's best interestsThe agreement between the parties will facilitate the fulfillment of the government's program to better serve the people.
Wathiq Al-Jabri, an Iraqi political analyst, told PUKMEDIA: "The accords upon which the government was founded are crucial, and the political parties are committed to them."
He further added: "The agreements will progress the government's work, and it is obvious that much of the government's work was previously in jeopardy owing to political divisions."
At the onset of the formation of the new Iraqi government, the PUK played a significant role in bringing opposing viewpoints together and reaching an agreement. Currently, the PUK President is exerting great effort to implement the agreement, and he views the unity of the parties and the protection of constitutional rights as the keys to the success of Sudani's government.
