Iraqi President and Deputy PM stress necessity of settling Baghdad-Erbil issues

The Iraqi President and the Kurdistan Region's Deputy Prime Minister stressed the necessity of addressing the outstanding issues between the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, President of Iraq, met with Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, and his accompanying delegation at the Baghdad Palace on Monday, January 30, 2023.
The two parties discussed general developments in the country, including the Kurdistan Region, and emphasized supporting the government in implementing its ministerial program, working and coordinating in order to consolidate security and stability, and unifying viewpoints in response to the country's common challenges.
The Iraqi president emphasized the necessity for active and serious dialogue in order to settle the lingering issues between the Iraqi government and the KRG in line with the constitution and the law, so as to fulfill the aspirations and demands of the inhabitants.
In addition, he emphasized the significance of passing the country's general budget, as it directly affects the lives of its residents.
Qubad Talabani admired the work of the Iraqi president in bringing diverse perspectives together and resolving outstanding issues.
