Qubad Talabani meets with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister in Erbil

On Wednesday, Qubad Talabani, KRG Deputy Prime Minister with the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Presidential Special Envoy for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov in Erbil.

The meeting was also attended by Daban Shadala, Deputy Director of KRG's Department of Foreign Relations, and Russian Consul General Oleg Levin.

Regarding the relations between Russia and the Kurdistan Region, Bogdanov spoke about the important position of the Kurdistan Region and the historical relations of his country with the Region, pointing to the important role of the late President Mam Jalal in strengthening those relations.

For his part, Qubad Talabani greeted his guest and described him as the future friend of the people of Kurdistan.

Talabani spoke about the results of the legislative elections, saying, "we are waiting for the negotiations to begin to form the new government soon," pointing out that the solution to a part of the problems of the Kurdistan Region is in Baghdad. 

Talabani also indicated the importance of unity between the Kurdish parties, especially in these sensitive circumstances.

The two sides also discussed the latest developments in Syria and the problems of migrants.

At the end of the meeting, Qubad Talabani and Mikhail Bogdanov dealt with the files and the arrival of Russian companies to the Kurdistan Region, and he affirmed on benefiting from the capabilities of Russia.
