Minister of Peshmerga: We will not stop until complete elimination of ISIS

On Tuesday, Minister of Peshmerga in the Kurdistan Region, Shoresh Ismail, met with all the commander and the deputy commanding officers of the infantry brigades in the Ministry of Peshmerga, and assigned them to stand strong against the attacks of ISIS terrorists and eradicate terreroism.

The Minister of Peshmerga and the ministry officials expressed their condolences to the families of the martyrs of the Peshmerga, especially those who were martyred recently in the Garmaser combat zone.

During the meeting, the Minister of Peshmerga said, “we have constantly emphasized the importance of good preparation of the forces to protect the trenches of the Peshmerga after the emergence of ISIS and the sleeper cells. That is why the brigade leaders were tasked with taking precautions and strengthening their trenches with new war plans and protecting them from terrorists.”

The minister praised the efforts of the brigade leadership and the Peshmerga forces, who sacrificed their lives in order to protect the security and stability of the Kurdistan Region.

"The blood of those peshmerga who sacrificed their lives a few days ago will not be in vain; we must avenge them and we will not stop until the complete elimination of ISIS," he added. 

Regarding the relations between the Peshmerga and the Iraqi army, the Minister of Peshmerga indicated that after the establishment of joint security centers between the Peshmerga and the army, efforts will be towards the two forces working together and taking their roles in areas where there is a security vacuum.
