South Kurdistan: Women and Girls Play a Leading Role in Demonstrations
Photo Gallery 10:22 AM - 2026-01-31The recent escalation of tensions in West Kurdistan, also known as Rojava (North and East Syria), and attacks by Syrian interim government forces on Kurdish areas have prompted widespread reactions across all parts of Kurdistan. In South Kurdistan, the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, a series of marches, rallies, and demonstrations were held in solidarity with West Kurdistan. Women and girls were at the forefront of these activities, standing in support of their peers in Rojava.
