Iraqi PM Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening Iraqi Army and State Authority

Iraqi Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Falih al-Zaidi, visited the Ministry of Defence on Sunday, where he was received by Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Media Office and seen by PUKMEDIA, al-Zaidi chaired a meeting with senior military commanders and officers at the ministry in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

During the meeting, he approved a list of military promotions and reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that army officers receive the promotions they are entitled to. He praised the efforts of officers and service personnel, describing them as the nation's shield and a cornerstone of its security.

The Prime Minister said the government remains committed to developing the Iraqi Army into a strong, professional force dedicated to protecting Iraq and its people. He added that the government would provide the military with the resources needed to strengthen its capabilities, stressing that the strength of a nation is reflected in the strength of its armed forces.

Al-Zaidi also reiterated that no weapons would be permitted outside the authority of the state and the framework of the law. He reaffirmed the government's determination to combat corruption, eliminate its root causes, and build a state founded on the rule of law and justice, ensuring security and stability for all citizens.
