Iraqi President: Iraq Supports Diplomatic Solutions to Resolve Regional Disputes

Iraqi President Nizar Amedi received Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his accompanying delegation at Baghdad Palace on Sunday to discuss the latest regional and international developments.
The meeting focused on the evolving situation in the Middle East and the importance of preventing further escalation. Both sides also discussed the recent agreement between Iran and the United States to end the conflict.
President Amedi stressed the importance of dialogue as the most effective means of fostering regional stability and achieving lasting understandings capable of resolving outstanding issues.
He reaffirmed Iraq's support for all initiatives that promote peace in the region, uphold the sovereignty of states and encourage the resolution of disputes through diplomacy, while rejecting escalation and the use of force.
For his part, Araghchi expressed Iran's appreciation for Iraq's role in containing regional crises and helping bridge differences between regional actors.
He also reaffirmed Tehran's commitment to maintaining close coordination and consultations with Iraq and to expanding cooperation and mutual understanding on issues of common interest and regional developments.
