Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi met on Wednesday, 3 June 2026, with a delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), accompanied by representatives of several foreign oil companies operating in the Kurdistan Region, to discuss strengthening cooperation in the oil sector and addressing outstanding issues.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister instructed the relevant authorities to provide all necessary support and facilities to ensure a stable and secure environment for foreign oil companies operating in the Region. He emphasised the importance of protecting investments and promoting the development of the oil sector as a key component of the national economy.

As an immediate measure, Prime Minister Al-Zaidi issued an official directive for oil companies operating in the Kurdistan Region to resume production and operational activities from tomorrow. The move forms part of the federal government’s efforts to support economic growth, increase energy output, and strengthen the country’s energy sector.
