PUK, Iraqi Presidents Stress Importance of Continued Efforts to Form New Government

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Iraqi President Nizar Amedi at President Mam Jalal’s house in Baghdad.
During the meeting, which was also attended by Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, member of the PUK Political Bureau, the two sides exchanged views on the latest political developments and the ongoing efforts to form the new Iraqi government. They stressed the importance of continuing national efforts to ensure the success of the political process.
President Bafel praised the Iraqi President’s efforts to bring political parties closer together and to reach an agreement on forming a national service-oriented government.
For his part, President Amedi reaffirmed his commitment to the balanced policy of President Mam Jalal aimed at bridging differences and achieving the highest national interests and aspirations.
He stated: “Our efforts are focused on working within the framework of the Constitution and the law in order to resolve problems and strengthen the foundations of governance.”
