Iraqi President Nizar Amedi received a message of congratulations from President Xi Jinping on the occasion of assuming office as President of the Republic of Iraq, the Iraqi Presidency said on Saturday.

The message was delivered during a meeting at Baghdad Palace on Saturday, according to a statement by the Iraqi Presidency, where President Amedi received Cui Wei, China’s Ambassador to Iraq, who conveyed the Chinese leader’s greetings and well wishes.

In his message, President Xi highlighted the depth of the longstanding friendship between the two countries, reaffirming continued support and coordination on issues of shared interest.

He also pointed to the steady progress achieved in bilateral cooperation—particularly in the fields of energy, economy, and trade—expressing China’s keenness to further strengthen ties and elevate the strategic partnership in a manner that serves the mutual interests of both friendly nations.

President Amedi extended his greetings to President Xi through Ambassador Cui Wei, reaffirming Iraq’s commitment to advancing relations with China and expanding cooperation across a wide range of sectors, in a way that promotes the shared interests and prosperity of both countries and their peoples.
