U.S. Iran Israel

The Israeli–U.S. war against Iran continues for the 39th day, with the U.S. president’s deadline for an agreement approaching, placing the conflict at a decisive stage between two possible outcomes.

Continued Military Escalation

Attacks have continued on Tuesday across multiple locations. Iranian media reported that six explosions were heard in the central city of Qom, while warplanes flew over Tehran and additional blasts were reported in the capital.

A series of powerful explosions also rocked the cities of Karaj, Eslamshahr, Qods, Shahriar, Shiraz and Isfahan. Reports indicated that three airports and Sharif University have been targeted.

The Israeli army said it had concluded a wave of air strikes on Tehran and other parts of Iran aimed at military infrastructure. In a statement, it said the strikes were intended to damage Iranian military assets across the country.

In a separate warning, the Israeli military on Tuesday told people in Iran not ‌to use trains or go near railway lines.

"For the sake of your security, we kindly request that from this moment until 21:00 Iran time, you refrain from using and travelling by train throughout Iran," the military posted on ‌its Persian-language account on X.

"Your presence on trains and near railway lines endangers your life."

Iranian Response

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched several missiles towards Israeli cities on Tuesday morning, activating air defence systems in multiple areas including Afula, Yir'on and Qiryat Shemona, according to Israel’s Home Front Command.

The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that a ballistic missile warhead fell in Tel Aviv without exploding, while fragments of Iranian missiles landed in around 10 locations across Israel.

Casualty Figures

According to UN figures, between 28 February and 30 March 2026, more than 2,100 civilians were killed and 27,900 injured in strikes and bombardments in Iran. The conflict has reportedly affected the lives of more than 3.8 million people and created a severe humanitarian situation.

UN Security Council Vote on Strait of Hormuz

The United Nations Security Council is expected to vote on Tuesday on a proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, following earlier rejection of a draft resolution, proposed by Bahrain, by China and Russia.

The draft would allow countries to take defensive measures to ensure safe maritime transit through the strait.

U.S. Deadline

U.S. President Donald Trump has set a deadline of 3 a.m. (Iraq time) Wednesday for reaching an agreement with Iran.

He has warned that Iran must either agree to a deal or reopen the Strait of Hormuz, otherwise Iran will be living in "Hell"

However, there is a possibility of postponing the bombing of Iranian infrastructure, but any such delay by the U.S. president depends on seeing positive and genuine signs from Tehran.

Diplomatic efforts

Pakistan is currently acting as the main mediator in efforts to reach an understanding between the parties ahead of the US deadline. Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, said on X that efforts to end the war are at a critical and sensitive stage, pointing to what he described as goodwill in ongoing talks.
