The Iraqi Ministry of Interior has announced the seizure of 64 kilograms of dangerous narcotics and the arrest of a suspect inside Iranian territory, carried out in coordination with the Iranian authorities.
In a statement reviewed by PUKMEDIA, the Ministry said the operation was conducted by the General Directorate for Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances under the direct supervision of the Minister of Interior and following the necessary legal approvals. According to the statement, the operation took place in the city of Abadan and was executed by a specialised unit from the General Directorate for Narcotics Affairs, working closely with the Iranian Anti-Narcotics Directorate. The Ministry described the action as part of joint efforts to combat the cross-border drug trade.
