People from all sections of society have underlined the importance of supporting the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) List No. 222 in order to secure the largest possible representation in Baghdad and implement the PUK’s programme aimed at serving citizens and safeguarding the rights and entitlements of the Kurdistan Region.
Consolidating Citizens’ Rights
Salih Osman, candidate No. 17 on the PUK List 222 in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, told PUKMEDIA: “The PUK, under the leadership of Mr Bafel Jalal Talabani, continues to work tirelessly to consolidate and defend the rights of citizens.”
He added: “It is vital for the PUK to secure a strong mandate in these elections to effectively defend citizens’ rights in Baghdad. We have all witnessed the PUK’s recent efforts that have brought Erbil and Baghdad closer together, resulting in a joint agreement. The appointment of a Kurdish governor for Kirkuk is also a significant political achievement, reflecting the PUK’s wisdom and diplomacy. This shows that the PUK’s strength lies in the unity and support of the people of Baghdad and the surrounding areas.”
Addressing the Salary Issue
Sozan Mansour, candidate No. 24 on the PUK List 222 in Diyala Governorate, told PUKMEDIA: “President Bafel Jalal Talabani played a decisive role in resolving the salary issue, and thanks to his efforts, public sector employees have received their wages for several months.”
She continued: “Article 140 of the Constitution is now being implemented in Baghdad, and we must support the PUK because it is the only party actively working to implement this article and resolve the disputed territories issue. We see ourselves as responsible for upholding citizens’ rights, and the PUK’s core mission is to serve all the people of Kurdistan.”
President Bafel Defends Citizens’ Rights
Aras Abid, candidate No. 22 on the PUK List 222 in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, told PUKMEDIA: “President Bafel Jalal Talabani’s words reflect the concerns, hopes, and demands of the people, and he is determined to fulfil their aspirations and defend their rights. The PUK’s victory is a victory for the people of Kurdistan and will deliver more services to our citizens.”
He added: “Thanks to the efforts of the PUK leadership and parliamentary bloc, the law recognising Halabja as a governorate was passed. This time, the PUK, through capable representatives, aims to enact a law to compensate the victims and affected residents of Halabja Governorate. Therefore, it is crucial to vote for the PUK to ensure better service and representation for all the people of Kurdistan.”
