PUK President: Kurds' Rights Must be Guaranteed in the New Syria

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Gharib Hasso, Co-Chair of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), and Salih Muslim, member of the PYD Presidency Board, in Dabashan, Sulaymaniyah.

The meeting was also attended by Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, Head of the PUK Relations Bureau, and Salar Lala Sarhad, Head of the party's Kurdistani Relations Department. Discussions focused on the latest developments in West Kurdistan (North and East Syria) and in Syria more broadly.

President Bafel reaffirmed the PUK’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the interests of the Kurdish people in West Kurdistan, stressing: "Kurds' rights must be guaranteed in the new Syria. The country should be governed by all parties, and the Syrian state must represent all communities."

The PYD delegation conveyed the greetings of Mazloum Abdi, Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), to President Bafel, and reaffirmed the continued support and partnership of both the PYD and the SDF.
