Gold, Dollar Prices Hold Still in Iraq

Gold and dollar prices.

On Sunday, 20 April 2025, gold and U.S. dollar prices in Iraq remained to some degree stable at the start of trading market, with the price of an ounce of gold standing at $3,327. Meanwhile, the exchange rate of the U.S. dollar remained stable at 147,250 Iraqi dinars for $100.

The local gold prices were as follows:

One mithqal of 24-carat gold: 795,000 Iraqi dinars

One mithqal of 22-carat gold: 728,000 Iraqi dinars

One mithqal of 21-carat gold: 695,000 Iraqi dinars

One mithqal of 18-carat gold: 595,000 Iraqi dinars

Alongside the gold market, foreign currency exchange rates in Iraq also showed notable values at the start of trading.

The current exchange rates are:

$100 = 147,250 Iraqi dinars

€100 = 164,500 Iraqi dinars

£100 = 191,000 Iraqi dinars

$100 = 7,300,000 Iranian Tomans

$100 = 3,816 Turkish Liras

These fluctuations reflect ongoing changes in both the precious metals and currency markets, which are key to understanding Iraq's economic outlook at the start of the week.
