On Thursday, April 17, 2025, gold prices in Iraq recorded a significant increase at the start of trading, with the price of an ounce rising to $3,328 Meanwhile, the exchange rate of the U.S. dollar remained stable at 147,500 Iraqi dinars per $100.

The local gold prices were as follows:

One mithqal of 24-carat gold: 794,000 Iraqi dinars

One mithqal of 22-carat gold: 727,000 Iraqi dinars

One mithqal of 21-carat gold: 696,000 Iraqi dinars

One mithqal of 18-carat gold: 595,000 Iraqi dinars

Alongside the gold market, foreign currency exchange rates in Iraq also showed notable values at the start of trading.

The current exchange rates are:

$100 = 147,500 Iraqi dinars

€100 = 165,250 Iraqi dinars

£100 = 190,000 Iraqi dinars

$100 = 7,100,000 Iranian Tomans

$100 = 3,730 Turkish Liras

These fluctuations reflect ongoing changes in both the precious metals and currency markets, which are key to understanding Iraq's economic outlook at the start of the week.
