Salar Mahmoud: 2nd PUK Forum Set for This Month with PUK President Attending

Salar Mahmoud, a member of the Supreme Committee of the Second Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Forum, confirmed that the second PUK Forum will take place at the end of this month, with Mr. Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the PUK, in attendance.

Second PUK Forum to Shape Key Political Decisions

In an exclusive interview with PUKMEDIA, Salar Mahmoud stated, "We have organised nine preparatory conferences across the Kurdistan Region in preparation for the second PUK Forum. The Forum has become a new standard in political engagement, serving as a foundation for involving PUK members and cadres in decision-making."

He added, "The PUK Forum is not merely a party event; it is a platform where decisions are made. It allows cadres to actively participate in shaping party policy and addressing all sectors related to the PUK's political activities, including governance in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, relations with other political parties, and numerous other key issues."

Salar Mahmoud continued, "The second PUK Forum will be held at the end of this month, with the participation of Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the PUK, and under the supervision of Qubad Talabani, General Supervisor of the PUK Forum, alongside thousands of comrades."

Over 12,000 PUK Members Contribute to Shaping Future Policies

Salar Mahmoud said that over 12,000 PUK members and cadres have participated in the nine conferences held across the Kurdistan Region, contributing thousands of proposals and opinions to the Supreme Committee of the PUK Forum.

He further explained that the second Forum will place significant importance on the proposals and opinions of PUK comrades, as well as the views and suggestions from PUK allies, political elites, intellectuals, and writers."

He added, "The Supreme Committee of the Second PUK Forum, working alongside our cadres, is dedicated to ensuring that the forum includes critical proposals and recommendations that will contribute to the future development of party work and the PUK's policies for the upcoming phase."

Salar Mahmoud Highlights PUKMEDIA’s Key Role in Forum Reporting

Salar Mahmoud commended PUKMEDIA's coverage since the initial conference, saying: "While the forum does have its own website, PUKMEDIA has become the official media channel for the forum, serving as the primary source for sharing all forum-related news with other media outlets."

The first PUK Forum commenced on 12th March 2022, under the supervision of Qubad Talabani, and concluded on 31st May 2022. It established the PUK's policy across various areas and has since become a cornerstone of the party's overall policy.
