KDP-PUK Issue Statement After Sulaymaniyah Meeting

According to the statement, the meeting took place following an evaluation and discussion of the political and economic conditions in the Kurdistan Region, as well as the unresolved matters with the Iraqi federal government, specifically regarding the budget, livelihoods, and employee salaries.
Additionally, the meeting addressed the Iraqi provincial council elections, and after exchanging views and considering the utmost national interests, both parties agreed on the following points:
1. At this stage, both parties agreed that to benefit the citizens of Kirkuk province, including all of its communities, it is necessary to select a Kurdish governor to serve the people residing in the cities and towns of the province.
2. Both parties reached a consensus that it is the responsibility of the PUK, KDP, and all Kurdish political parties to safeguard the structure of the Kurdistan Region and preserve the achievements made through the revolution, struggle, and sacrifices of Kurdistan martyrs.
3. To address the political and economic issues between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government at a higher level, both parties should make efforts to overcome the difficulties related to general matters, as well as livelihoods, services, budgets, and salaries in particular.
