Talar Latif, PUK's 5th Congress Spokesperson.
The ongoing preparations for the 5th Congress of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), scheduled to take place in Sulaymaniyah on September 27, 2023, are now underway.
According to Talar Latif, the designated representative for the 5th Congress of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), the ongoing preparations for the congress include the development of documentation for the identification cards of the congress's permanent members.
"The forthcoming week will witness the publication of the guidelines pertaining to the conference of the PUK bureaus, headquarters, and organs," Latif told PUKMEDIA. "These guidelines will be in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations, as well as the established mechanisms."
"The upcoming congress is expected to amend the regulations and initiatives of the PUK. In contrast to its predecessor, the revised rules will be subject to approval through a voting process involving congress members. Additionally, alterations to the composition of the PUK are anticipated." she stated.
"The PUK has consistently focused its efforts on revitalizing and fortifying the party, relying on the capabilities of both young individuals and women to achieve this objective," she added.
According to Latif, active participation from both the youth and women is expected in this congress.
