The Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) declared that the PUK will continue to advocate putting the provisions of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights into practice on the occasion of its 75th anniversary.
The PUK Political Bureau released the following statement via PUKMEDIA:
Since our founding, we have fought for the liberation of our country and the rights and freedoms of the Kurdish people, and on this 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the PUK insists that the direction of the legitimate goal of our fight is consistent with this human concept. We have cited all the articles and provisions of this Declaration in our program and related rules.
Meanwhile, the PUK will step up efforts to put this Declaration's provisions into action to safeguard human rights in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq and continue the humanitarian fight to establish a peaceful and upstanding existence for the Kurdish people and other communities.
