During his participation in the Forum of Ancient Civilizations, the Kurdistan Region's Minister of Culture and Youth reaffirmed the value of the nation's ancient civilizations.
On Sunday, December 4, the Iraqi Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Culture of the Kurdistan Region participated in the 6th Forum of Ancient Civilizations, which was presided over by the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At the forum, there were representatives from Armenia, Lithuania, Panama, Bolivia, and Peru.
The Kurdistan Region's Minister of Culture and Youth, Hama Hama Saeed, remarked during his speech at the event that "the ruins of our old civilizations attest to our ancient and true heritage that is to be proud of."
He added, "At the same time, we should examine where we, the survivors and successors of our forefathers, stand today in world civilization”.
Ancient civilizations undoubtedly coexisted with one another, though there were numerous conflicts and wars between them. However, he added, "In this era of scientific and technological revolution, where humanity is constantly developing, we must meet on common points and make civil dialogue the basis for real coexistence."
It should be noted that the Forum of Ancient Civilizations is a Greek project and that its first formal conference was conducted on April 24, 2017, in Athens.
Governmental-level dialogues and cultural exchanges take place between the forum's member states in an effort to take advantage of the value of civilized and cultural exchange for the progress of the participating nations' economies and societies.
