Qubad Talabani opens two hospitals in Slemani

On Sunday, Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), opened two hospitals in the city of Slemani.

Qubad Talabani said during a press conference, "I thank all the workers for building these two hospitals." He also praised the health sector and thanked them for serving citizens, especially during the spread of the Coronavirus and cholera.

"Today, we opened two new hospitals, and they will provide great services to citizens. We in KRG pay great attention to the health sector and provide the best services to citizens, and we thank all those who supported us to develop the health sector," he added.

He continued, "We have a large health infrastructure in the Kurdistan Region, and despite all the financial crises facing the Kurdistan Region now, KRG continued to develop the health sector."

On Sunday, Qubad Talabani opened a hospital for gastroenterology and liver diseases and a hospital for children in Slemani.

The opening ceremony was attended by KRG's Minister of Health, the Governor of Slemani, Slemani's Director-General of the Health, and the representative of the World Health Organization.

The gastroenterology and Liver Hospital is the first of its kind in the Kurdistan Region and the third in Iraq to treat patients with digestive system and liver diseases, as it includes a large number of medical devices and supplies.
