The Ministry of Migration and Displacement hold a campaign to fight violence against women

The office of Ministry of Migration and Displacement in Slemani held a campaign to fight violence against women in the Ashti camp.
Director of Migration and Displacement Department in Slemani, Samir Mashkour, told PUKmedia, "Under the patronage of Evan Fayaq, the Minister of Migration and Displacement, and in implementation of the National Plan for Women, Security, and Peace, a 16-day campaign was held to fight violence against women and to educate women about the dangers of forced marriage and child marriage, and to discuss problems related to women in the camps and finding solutions to them."
"During the celebration sweets and some gifts will be distributed to the participants," he added.
Pakhshan Tofiq, the director of Ashti camp, told PUKmedia, "We are pleased with this initiative by the Ministry of Migration and Displacement to hold an awareness campaign for fighting violence against women and to find solutions that support women during difficult situations, that face the mother, wife, and sister, who are half of society, and we as camp officials always provide services to the women in the camp by providing them with all support and services and raising their awareness.”
It is noteworthy that the Ashti camp has 1,840 displaced families, most of whom are from Saladin and Nineveh governorates.
