Qubad Talabani is head of Kurdistan Coalition for 2021 elections

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Change Movement voted to name Qubad Talabani as the head of the Kurdistan Coalition.

 

On Thursday, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, headed by co-President Bafel Talabani, met with Omar Sayed Ali, the General Coordinator of the Change Movement, to discuss developments. In the meeting, they decided to name Qubad Talabani as head of the Kurdistan Coalition in the upcoming legislative elections.

The second son of the late President Jalal Talabani, President of the Republic of Iraq, Secretary-General of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, was born on July 21, 1977.

 

Due to Mam Jalal's efforts during the Kurds' revolution against the Baathist dictatorial regime, Qubad Talabani spent his childhood at his grandfather's house, the experienced politician, Professor Ibrahim Ahmed, so he was deprived of the affection of his parents.

 

He completed the academic stages with distinction, as he holds a BA in Mechanical Engineering from Kingston University in Britain.

 

Qubad Talabani worked in 2000 as an assistant to Dr. Barham Salih, the representative of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in the United States of America at that time.

 

In 2004 he became the representative of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in Washington.

 

In 2006, he became responsible for the Kurdistan Regional Government's representation to America, and he performed his diplomatic duties to the fullest, and the Kurdistan Region trusted him.

 

In the seventh cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government, he became an official of the Coordination and Follow-up Department as a minister who had a leading role in developing this institution.

 

He also played a prominent role, assuming the position of Vice President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, in the completion of strategic and service projects, including his negotiations with Baghdad to ensure the entitlements of the Kurdistan Region and the salaries of employees in the federal budget for 2021.

 

The federalists and a mass of citizens view Qubad Talabani as a leader of a bright future. The youth of Kurdistan put their trust in him to end the obstacles and to support their dreams.

 

He also serves the families of the martyrs and the victims of the chemical weapons.
