Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Stephen Hitchen, British Ambassador to Iraq, in Sulaymaniyah.

The recent political developments, elections, and the creation of a robust government that meets the citizens' needs and defends their rights were discussed. 

President Bafel Jalal Talabani emphasised the significance of the electoral process for the development and democratic advancement of the Kurdistan Region. He stated that the Kurdistan Region requires fair and service-oriented governance, aimed at enhancing people's lives and fostering a stable future.

“The PUK is committed to taking all necessary steps to ensure governance serves the people and does not discriminate against them,” President Bafel said.
