Begard Talabani, Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources of the Kurdistan Region, has successfully resolved the issue of marketing the harvests of the Region's farmers. As a result, the farmers are now able to transport their products to the central and southern provinces of Iraq.

According to a statement of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources, following the request of Begard Talabani, Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources, during the Ministerial Economic Council meeting in Erbil, and taking into account the overall welfare of farmers, Iraq's Ministerial Economic Council decided, after extensive negotiations and deliberation, to assist farmers and promote their agricultural products by prohibiting the importation of cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, zucchinis, and watermelons.

The statement continued: "In response to the requests of farmers in Penjwen, Sidakan, and the regions of Erbil and Duhok, a decision was made to address the marketing issue by allowing Kurdistan farmers to transport their products to the central and southern provinces of Iraq."
