President Bafel: Any attempt to harm the country will fail

The meeting of the President of the PUK and Iraqi Defense Minister in Baghdad.

Bafel Jalal Talabani, the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Thabet Muhammad Saeed al-Abbasi, Minister of Defense at the house of late President Mam Jalal in Baghdad.

Harem Kamal Agha, a member of the Leadership Council, and Khalid Shwani, a member of the Political Bureau of the PUK were present at the meeting, where both sides focused on increasing military and intelligence coordination to maintain stability as they discussed the security situation in the country and the disputed areas, combatting terrorism, and activating the joint military rooms.

For his part, President Bafel Jalal Talabani applauded the national forces for their ongoing efforts to safeguard civilian lives, stating that a key element in preserving peace is the continuation and growth of coordination between the two sides. "We can thwart any attempt that aims to undermine our country," he added.
