The PUK's vision dominates political decision-making

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) serves as the focal point for party meetings in Baghdad. Mam Jalal's house is where the government develops its public service strategies, and the PUK is well-recognized on Iraqi streets in a way that the party's representation in the legislature cannot explain.

The Kurds have been granted four ministries in the new Iraqi administration led by Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, including the two ministries of law and the environment that were awarded to the PUK.

In Baghdad, the PUK has consistently taken a firm position
"The PUK has always had a strong presence in Baghdad, but with the fall of the former Iraqi regime, it is standing as a force with positions and choices in Baghdad has become stronger," said Rabiha Hamad, a member of the PUK Leadership Council and the head of the PUK's Baghdad Center, to PUKMEDIA.

"PUK's strength in Baghdad stemmed from President Mam Jalal's continuous endeavors to create a consensual administration for Iraq, and now President Bafel continues on the same course, which has retained the party's prestige in Baghdad," she continued.
The PUK's stances are praised by the Iraqi street
The PUK's stances on different issues are seen as beneficial for both the parties and the government, demonstrating the party's desire for an Iraq that is united and working for the benefit of its citizens.

The PUK and President Bafel are respected and considered as an extension of President Mam Jalal's agenda, she added, noting that this is true not only within Iraqi parties but also on the country's streets.
Continuation of President Mam Jalal's policy in Baghdad
The balanced stance taken by the PUK in Baghdad is that of Presidents Mam Jalal and Bafel.

Shirwan Mirza, a political analyst and former member of the Iraqi parliament, told PUKMEDIA that the PUK in Baghdad "has always attempted to bring the Iraqi parties closer." President Mam Jalal established the balanced PUK strategy, and President Bafel will maintain it.
Seats do not measure PUK's stance
The PUK's stance was not what it ought to be following President Mam Jalal's illness and death, but now the PUK is the power whose positions are welcomed by the parties and even the Iraqi streets.

The PUK has a unique position and weight in the political arena of Iraq that is measured by the PUK's worldview and interpretation that the PUK follows, not by the number of seats in the parliament, Mirza said.

"The PUK is a gatherer of different voices in Baghdad and is working to resolve the issues between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad," Mirza added.
Showing the PUK's strength are two ministries and a president
The PUK's inclusion in the new Iraqi administration with two ministries and the president, according to Mirza, "is confirmation that the PUK's position is solid and will play a more effective role in resolving the conflicts between Iraq and the Kurdistan Region."

As part of its national stance and position, the PUK has made every effort to promote peace and provide assistance to the people of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
