Swedish FM discusses concerns of Kurdish diaspora with KRG representative

The Swedish foreign minister on Friday received a delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) representation in the country, discussing the concerns of the Kurdish community in Sweden.
During The meeting, they discussed the current situation in the Kurdistan region and Iraq, the relations between the representation and the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the situation of the Kurdish diaspora, and political developments in Sweden.
Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Representative in Sweden Shorsh Qadir has conveyed the concerns of the Kurdish Diaspora to the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding media coverage about Sweden's membership in NATO and emphasized that it is important for the Swedish government to address these questions and provide the necessary explanation to the Kurdish diaspora in Sweden.
Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde stressed that the Sweden government takes into account the concerns of the Kurdish diaspora, the Swedish government will continue to support the Kurdish issue through its relations with the Kurdistan Region and support democracy promotion in the Middle East.
