Qubad Talabani, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, met with a delegation from the British Home Office to discuss youth migration and how to combat the criminal networks, human trafficking, and drug smuggling.

During the meeting, which was attended by Mark Bryson, the British Ambassador to Iraq, and David Hunt, the British Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, they discussed the need for international cooperation to combat criminal networks, human and drug traffickers that have deceived many people over the years.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the best way to combat criminal networks is reducing immigration and this can only be done through economic development, strengthening the private sector and creating more job opportunities.

Talabani referred to the Kurdistan Regional Government's plan to reform and strengthen the private sector and called on the British government to provide more assistance to the KRG in strengthening the private sector and reviving the economic infrastructure of the region.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed the KRG's readiness for all kinds of assistance from the UK and the international community to combat human and drug trafficking networks.

He added, "the Kurdistan security forces are now much more serious and vigilant than ever in finding and arresting those who traffic in human beings and drugs."
