PUK and KDP's joint statement regarding their meeting

The Political Bureau of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) met at the Kurdistan Region's Presidency building today, Wednesday.

In the meeting, the current situation in Iraq and Kurdistan Region and the cooperation between the political parties has come through discussion.

Both sides affirmed that the visit of Mr. Nechirvan Barzani, the President of the Kurdistan Region for Slemani, was a proper step for discussion. In addition to developing the relations and working towards restoring the trust between the two sides. 

The two sides decided to continue the joint meetings of PUK and KDP as the principle of working together, as well as a joint committee of both sides' political bureaus to discuss the next parliamentary elections.

Moreover, they emphasized the cooperation and support of both sides for the Kurdistan Regional Government and its legitimate institutions and stopping the media campaign against each other.
