Health Minister: Kurdistan Region has not recorded any Omicron cases

On Tuesday, KRG's Ministry of Health confirmed a decrease in the number of cases recorded with Covid-19, stressing that the region has not recorded any Omicron cases.
Saman Barzanji, Minister of Health, told PUKmedia that the number of Covid-19 infections in the Kurdistan Region is decreasing, but the spread continues, and the ministry is following up on the epidemiological situation in the Kurdistan Region.
Barzanji indicated that although 80 countries have registered for the omicron mutant, no infection has been recorded in the Kurdistan Region.
He pointed out that the arrivals to the Kurdistan Region are from the countries that have recorded omicron cases, and they show symptoms but are being treated as suspects.
Regarding the preventive measures, the Minister of Health in the Kurdistan Region stressed, "The procedures followed are the same in the prevention of Covid-19, which is social distancing, wearing masks and sterilizing hands... global research continues to determine the causes of the rapid spread of the omicron variant."
